Jimmy Barnes
The combination of 14 Australian Top 40 albums for Cold Chisel and 13 charting solo albums, including nine No. 1s, gives Barnes the highest number of hit albums of any Australian artist.

Jimmy Barnes is a Scottish-Australian rock singer and songwriter. His career both as a solo performer and as the lead vocalist with the rock band Cold Chisel has made him one of the most popular and best-selling Australian music artists of all time.

James Dixon Barnes of Glasgow via Adelaide was just 16 when he joined the band Cold Chisel in 1973. Raised on tough soul music and gutsy rock, Jimmy bought his monumental passion and a versatile vocal style to this five-piece band who would eventually become the most powerful live act in the heyday of Australian pub rock.

In 1984 Jimmy went solo, his debut album Bodyswerve topping the charts, as did his 1986 album, For the Working Class Man. The #1 hits kept coming through the late 1980’s and early 1990’s with Freight Train Heart, the live set Barnestorming, Two Fires, Flesh and Wood, and of course Soul Deep – an album of R&B classics that sold almost a million copies.

In 2017 Barnes was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the performing arts as a musician, singer and songwriter, and through support for not-for-profit organisations, particularly to children with a disability.

Throughout his career, Barnes has won five Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards, including his induction into their Hall of Fame in 2005.

Jimmy’s music has been our national soundtrack for forty years and his iconic status in the history of Australian rock’n’roll is reflected in this induction. Lots of things have changed over his decades in the public eye, but the one constant is his powerful connection with live audiences across more than 10,000 gigs. Night after night. Year after year.

Ian Moss

Respected as one of Australia’s iconic musicians, Ian Moss delivers an unforgettable sound – not only as a telling soloist on guitar but especially with his silken voice, ringing with clarity and resonating with pure soul.

ian moss maldives

While primarily recognised as an axeman of unusual tenacity and sweet melodic sensibility, Ian’s distinctive vocal is the essential signature of his soulful, bluesy muse – as it has been since his first tentative foray into music during the early 1970s.

Fate intervened when he answered an advertisement for a guitarist in a shop window in 1973, joining the band that was to become a legend in Australia – Cold Chisel.

By 1980, with the release of the seminal East album, Cold Chisel was the biggest band in the country.
While the band’s Last Stand tour in December 1983 closed an important chapter in Ian Moss’s musical career, Cold Chisel remains one of Australia’s favourite bands long after its demise.

Enjoying the status of Australia’s best guitarist, Moss carefully evolved into a solo artist of the same calibre and commanding the same respect as Cold Chisel. After five years of patient nurturing, Moss released his debut single Tucker’s Daughter in January 1989, and caused an immediate sensation. The anthemic song – which Moss wrote in collaboration with Don Walker – sat in the Top 10 for 11 weeks and hit No 1 for two weeks, achieving gold sales status after 15 weeks and selling more than 73,000 copies. Moss’s second solo single, Telephone Booth, was released in June that year, hit the Top 10 and remained in the Top 20 for 10 weeks.

As Cold Chisel’s biographer Anthony O’Grady observed, “When Moss goes into guitar dream world he pulls out chords and notes and sounds that do not fit the plot as such, but which create new dimensions – astounding stuff that can never be reached through intellectual process, only through a quantum leap of intuition and imagination.”

Kate Ceberano is creative tour-de-force.

28 albums. 13 Platinum. 8 Gold. 3 ARIA awards. 3 Countdown awards. Fronted the seminal band I’m Talking on the epic Australian Made tour alongside INXS, Barnesy & Divinyls, starred in JC Superstar with Farnham, hosted her own hit TV show Kate & Friends, won Dancing With The Stars, first Australian woman inducted into the ASA Hall of Fame (Aust. Songwriters Association), joins the pantheon of acts who have had Top 10 album across 5 decades. An electrifying live performer. The voice of a generation.

Troy Cassar-Daley has released 11 studio albums throughout his thirty years of making music.

He is a proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung man who comes from a long line of storytellers and shares his musicianship with so many artists across different styles of music.

His passion to pen stories about this land and what lies at the heart of it has been a driving force in his career.

Troy has been awarded numerous accolades including a record-breaking 40 Golden Guitars, 5 ARIAs including one for the 2021 Country Album of the Year with The World Today, 3 APRA Song of the Year awards, 9 Deadlys (Australian Indigenous Artist Awards), 4 CMAA Entertainer of the Year awards plus 2 NIMAs (National Indigenous Music Awards).

In 2017 Troy was honoured as the 50th inductee into the prestigious Australasian Roll Of Renown. He has had numerous gold and platinum albums and achieved a staggering 34 Number 1 chart singles.
His songs have been the soundtrack to the everyday triumphs, struggles and good times for Australians from our small towns to the big cities.
